Arch & Hook’s Sustainability Salon Series is a series of a monthly live free digital event exploring sustainability and best practices in the world of fashion, retail, and beyond. The series have an informational and educational purpose for fashion and retail professionals, which is supported by the Conscious Fashion Campaign and the United Nations Office for Partnerships.

We invite you to virtually join our 4th session of our digital Salon Series which will be taking place on 20 October 2020 (9 am PST, 12 pm EST, 6 pm CEST).

During this session, we will explore the importance and impact of (un)sustainable supply chain infrastructures and operations. What are the key challenges brands face in supporting and/or working with/or building supply chain operations in a more sustainable way? How has the COVID-19 crisis further accentuated the negative impact of unsustainable supply chains? We will also discuss the importance of diversity and fair trade in the supply chain.

We are happy to have once again Kerry Bannigan from the Conscious Fashion Campaign who will be the moderator for this session. Kerry will be in conversation with sustainability leaders who have integrated environmentally well-grounded choices into supply chain management, have seized value creation opportunities, and offer significant competitive advantages.

Flora Davidson – SupplyCompass

Flora is the Co-Founder of SupplyCompass, a product development and production management platform for her fashion brands and manufacturers. She started her career working for an innovation and strategy agency working with the likes of Adidas and L’Oréal. She spent 2 formative years living in Mumbai at the start of SupplyCompass, visiting hundreds of factories and suppliers across the country. She remains passionate about harnessing the power of technology to encourage better collaboration, drive efficiency, and make sustainable production accessible to fashion brands and supply chains across the globe.




Aurora Chisté – Maakola

Aurora is the Creative Director and Founder of Maakola, a made-to-order sustainable fashion brand that aims to express women’s style and substance. Her career spans the tech world from Silicon Valley to innovative energy and economic solutions across the world. Aurora has been recognized as a Global Shaper by the World Economic Forum. In 2015, she founded Maakola, a brand that is transparent about its business practice; a brand that celebrates collective progress, honors talent through the supply chain, and keeps improving its environmental footprint. Aurora is also the founder of Ray of Power, providing off-grid solar energy and water solutions in the African continent.

Arch & Hook’s Sustainability Salon Series is a series of FREE monthly live webinars, exploring sustainability trends and innovation in the world of fashion, retail, and beyond. With each session, we hope to spark conversation and inspiration within our industry, as well as share valuable business insights for new and stronger approaches toward better business and world.

We are thrilled to launch the 3rd session of our digital Salon Series, this time focusing on the Australian and West Coast US fashion and retail market. Register and join us on 25 August 2020 / 26 August in Australia (9 am AEST, 4 pm PST, 7 pm EST).

This session will explore sustainability trends and innovations regarding water in fashion and retail. With a panel representing water and sports brands, denim brands, and others, we will explore what are some of the latest technologies behind material production. How is this branch of fashion, so enclosed with nature, embracing the importance of sustainability in its brand stories? What business challenges are these brands facing in the current business climate?

The fashion industry is the third-largest user of water in production, so we will also dive deeper into the role of water as a commodity and resource and current challenges our industry is facing concerning overuse and pollution and how are brands tackling this.

These series are in partnership with the Conscious Fashion Campaign (CFC), in collaboration with the United Nations Office for Partnerships, aiming to raise awareness and education within the fashion industry to facilitate collective action toward the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

GiGi Lucas has 18+ years of experience in Global Brand Design and International Expansion. Helping brands like Nike, Kate Spade, Carter’s|Oshkosh, and JCrew with Retail Identity and Integrated Marketing. As an advisor and consultant, GiGi has leveraged her experience and expertise to guide over 35 startups and tech companies. Most recently, GiGi has combined her personal passion for the ocean with her professional experience to increase cultural & gender diversity in the surf industry through representation in media, retail offerings, and in the water. GiGi launched SurfearNEGRA, a non-profit organization with the goal to diversify the lineup by democratizing the sport to make surfing accessible to any kid, anywhere.

GiGi will be in conversation with sustainability leaders who have successfully reduced their (water) footprint, work for brands close to water or bring expertise and innovation to the topic.

Adam Taubenfligel – Triarchy

Adam Taubenfligel is the Creative Director and Designer at Triarchy, an eco-friendly denim brand. Adam began his career in denim out of love of fashion. learning the art of denim on the factory floor in Italy brought his love of fashion to life in the form of jeans. Subsequent years spent making jeans in the traditional way quickly educated him on how disastrously wasteful the fashion and specifically denim industries are. Alongside his brother, sister, and their brand, Triarchy, they set out to change the denim industry, one pair of jeans at a time.




Abigail Lorick – Ansea

Ansea is a sustainable lifestyle brand providing timeless essentials for women who love the water, created by recognizing a gap in the women’s surf and swimwear market. Taking cues from the ocean, Ansea creates products for women of all backgrounds and bodies with an emphasis on versatility, made with premium, sustainable textiles such as Econyl® and Yulex®, a plant-based alternative to neoprene that’s gentler on the planet, responsibly crafted in NYC and LA. Ansea is grounded in supporting not just women, but the well-being of the water we love and the communities that surround it. This session is joined by co-founder Abigail Lorick who spent her childhood off the coast of Florida sailing and surfing competitively. Previously designed for & Other Stories, Cynthia Rowley, and Stance, Lorick was also “ghost designer” for Eleanor Waldorf’s fashion line on the TV show Gossip Girl.



Chris Heysel – Arc’teryx

Instilled at an early age love of nature and a value-based work lead Chris to join Arc’teryx just over a year ago, during which period he has already overseen significant growth in the company’s sustainability strategy including the acceptance of a Science-Based Target and a commitment to 100% Renewable Energy beginning in 2020. With a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering and a specialization in Applied Sustainability from Queen’s University, Chris has helped some of Canada’s largest financial institutions in setting and achieving their carbon, water, and waste targets. Chris has been the sustainability lead for several of Vancouver’s largest infrastructure projects and contributed significantly to California’s High-Speed Rail definition of environmental sustainability metrics.

She develops strategies to minimize the environmental impact that Rothy’s supply chain has on the environment. Prior to joining Rothy’s, Saskia worked as Senior Director of Sustainability at Method. There she implemented sustainability initiatives on the ground for the European Business.

TerraCycle has recycled billions of pieces of waste, and pioneers recycling solutions for some of the world’s most challenging waste streams. In 2019, TerraCycle launched Loop: a global platform that allows companies to shift to a durable supply chain through a reuse model. Michael joined TerraCycle in 2008 and helped lead TerraCycle’s global expansion by developing award-winning sustainability partnerships with companies in diverse categories including P&G, Colgate-Palmolive, Grupo Bimbo, L’Oreal, General Mills, Clorox, PepsiCo, Frito-Lay, Mondelez, AstraZeneca, Kimberly-Clark and more. He is passionate about helping companies of all sizes find the value of the “triple bottom line” and is an experienced speaker on the topics of sustainability, social entrepreneurship, and the circular economy.
  • Wyke Potjer, Dutch Journalist, specialized in sustainable lifestyle, Partner and Content Manager at the award-winning website (in English: ‘we can do it’). provides positive daily content on green, fair, and fun living. She’s also Co-Author of the hetkanWEL book that has the objective to inspire people to make more sustainable lifestyle choices by giving tips, factual information, and interviews with inspirational people who are making a difference. Sustainable and special collaboration between supermodel and fashion show producer, Jessica Minh Ahn, and Arch & Hook.

On February 6, 2020, Jessica Minh Anh will transform the DHL Express Gateway at John F. Kennedy airport into the world’s first-ever fashion show centered around the globally sustainable supply chain. With an iconic backdrop featuring an energy-efficiency fleet of aircraft, helicopter, and electric cars, J Winter Fashion Show 2020 will premiere the creative fashion collections from different continents.  The highly-anticipated production follows the international successes of Jessica’s previous Fashion x Sustainability phenomena atop Hoover Dam, at the gemaSOLAR Power Plant, and aboard the Race For Water solar-wind-hydro powered vessel.

“Through this project, I want to bring an innovative mindset to sustainability initiatives,” said Jessica Minh Anh, who recently promoted upcycling in the Maldives. “Since shipping and logistics are such a critical part of the fashion industry, the show will highlight green logistics solutions, which help minimize environmental damages and reduce transport-related emissions. It is very important for me to partner with a company that prioritizes the health of our planet, and I have certainly found that confidence in DHL”.

Similar to Jessica’s history-making catwalks atop the Eiffel Tower, Grand Canyon Skywalk, and One World Trade Center, the visually impressive J Winter Fashion Show 2020 will celebrate diversity, unity, and innovation alongside fashion and sustainability. Japanese powerhouse Yumi Katsura, Peruvian celebrity artist Ani Alvarez Calderon, Vietnamese luxury brand VUNGOC&SON, and New York’s jewelry designer Cristina Sabatini alongside other participating designers focus on advanced tailoring techniques that incorporate sustainable materials and practices. The show will also include other sustainable elements such as FSC® beech wood hangers by Arch & Hook and state-of-the-art Glammfire electric heaters.

    During Market Week in December of 2019 we hosted the Retail Safari in NYC with the goal of providing a curated experience to inspire our participants by visiting and showcasing interesting and out-of-the-box retail concepts. To see the latest trends and groundbreaking concepts that are ahead of the curve and setting future trends.

    Our participants had the opportunity to join an interactive experience powered by Pim Philip Experiences. Observations, discussions, and interactions were encouraged to spark an interesting discussion and an exchange of personal views. All in all, motivating our participants to rethink possibilities and opportunities in their own field of work.

    A few highlights of the Market Week Retail Safari:
